Yesterday, in all of the excitement over Tex-Mex, I forgot to inform everyone that BW and myself signed a lease in Uptown (Turtle Creek).
We were very lucky in having a realtor who quickly found apartments that met our list of criteria. After walking through several units we were able to narrow down two possible viable choices.
In the end, it came down to location, square footage and a long list of amenities that most other complexes were unable to match. The apartment we will be moving into is around 1200 square feet and boasts nice finishings and a pleasant skyline view. Everything else the complex had to offer was only a plus.
I am extremely excited to begin moving into my first place in Dallas. BW and I are currently sharing a 550 square foot studio, so needless to say, we are counting down the days until we can spread our wings a little more.
Until next time, keep me in your prayers.

Tex-Mex Galore
As I begin to settle in and adjust to the changes in scenery, I can tell you that there is one thing that will not take much getting used to. THE FOOD!
It seems that on every street and around every corner, the luring aroma of gourmet Mexican concoctions makes their way through the car window and into my nose.
Tonight, RDW, BW and myself enjoyed a nice meal at Gloria's ( A Mexican restaurant located in Addison). The service and atmosphere was excellent and the chips and salsa seemed to be as endless as they come. All three of us enjoyed a healthy portion of spinach quesadillas and two other delicious dishes. Needless to say, we all may have over indulged and are happy to be home in looser, less restricting attire.
Even though I have only been here a few days, I can truly say that Dallas is beginning to feel more and more like home, and that is all I can pray for.
Until next time, keep me in your prayers.

Some time to relax
I know that everyone has heard it a million times, but I will never drive anywhere, and I mean anywhere, over four hours away. Despite my evolving hate for road trips, we made it safe and sound.
After several hours of napping, RDW (Monski, my father) and myself enjoyed our first meal on the canal that didn't consist of sunflower seeds and sugar free Red Bulls. Tonight we are spending our time relaxing by the fire with my roommate BW and catching up.
Tomorrow we will have a busy day as we start looking for apartments and condos in the downtown area. I will keep you updated and post pictures of the potential humble abodes.
Until next time, keep me in your prayers.

And the Journey begins...
"And when I dream about the moonlight on the Wabash, it's then I long for my Indiana..."
As I leave home for the first time in my young adult life, Ballard Mcdonald's "Back Home Again" has a newly recognized significance. The proposition of taking the big leap and getting out of dodge is only a pipe dream for many. A dream which is often shattered by life's unfortunate circumstances and many times, fear of the unknown. But for myself, the opportunity to break the small town mold and leave the all too familiar safety net of my hometown was appealing...that is until around five o'clock this evening when the reality of the move hit me.
The car was fully packed, my childhood room was stripped of any sign of my inhabitance, and the excitement quickly turned to sadness. Now eight hours into the 14-hour drive, with tears and safety nets left, exits and miles behind, an even more profound realization has set in. As one journey comes to an end, another of great importance is only on the cusp of beginning.
I may not know what the future in Dallas holds, but I invite you all to join me as I begin a new chapter of my life. And as I dream about the moonlight on the Wabash, make no mistake, I will always long for my Indiana home.
